Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello,

The good doctor of electro is back on call in the region of the Temple Bar
Music Centre on Bank Holiday Saturday June 3rd. The gang at Connected
magazine hit him with these questions:

    Q) With the green masked Dr. Lektroluv you've developed a very definite
character and brought a real sense of performance to your DJing. Do you
think the element of performance is something that's missing in a lot of DJs
    today?

Dr. L) Might be, although the music stays the most important factor.

It's True that sometimes electronic dance music misses a little element of
performance because of the technical approach of various artists .

    Q) You always blend a mix of the old and the new in your compilation CDs
what do you think have been the biggest influences on the electro sound in
    the last 15/20 years?

Dr. L) As many fans of electronic music Kraftwerk was a start for many of
    us.

More recently it's more about the technical possibilities
(software,editing..) which made things more interesting. Soundwise it's hard
    to beat the original.

    Q) How long do you spend making the selections for your compilations and
what are the criteria for a track to make it in to the mix?

Dr. L) The new selection starts once the previous cd is out. Criteria:
trying to fill in the best tracks with their best moments without being a
greatest hits. The cd should be a balance of old and new, from pure elektro
    to elektrohouse, etc...

    Q) You have knack for picking up on acts and tracks that are about to be
huge and including them in your compilations, what are you predicting will
be big from the 007 CD

    Dr. L) Patience is a great virtue ! :-)

    Q) You've released tracks of your own under your T-Quest and Subsurf guises,
any plans for a Dr. Lektroluv release and if so what kind of sound will it
    have?

Dr. L) This information seems to come from Discogs site i guess, pure
    rumours not facts !

    Q) Any exciting releases from your own label in the next few months that we
    can look forward to?

Dr. L) For the moment, the Superlux remix 12's are out , containing remixes
from David Carretta, Quenum, Perspects, Lowfish etc..Number 4 will be Danton
Eeprom, a French upcoming talent while number will be a new act from
    Belgium, dancefloor alert !

    Q) You're touring Europe around Belgium and the Netherlands now for the next
couple of months have you been booked for any of the big summer festivals
and if so which ones do you always look forward to the most?

Dr. L) So far we're focusing on festivals in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Pukkelpop, Dancevalley and Extrema outdoor are confirmed so quite an excited
summer. We will probably record the set at Extrema to release this 'live' cd
in September.. Obviously I am interested in playing more abroad as well but
therefore I want a personal link with the right promoters/contacts and this
    takes time.

    Q) Are you into any other non electronic genres of music that might surprise
    your fans?

Dr. L) Without electricity no doctor in the house...

    Q) Do you remember your first ever gig and how has your style changed or
    progressed since then?

Dr. L) I've started at the first Body to Body event, quite an exceptional
and stressy night it was. The style has changed a bit but depends more on
the delivery of quality releases which are dancefloor linked.

    Q) When you played in Dublin before, it has been for the intimate Electric
City parties, how do these compare to the bigger events that you play in
    Europe?

Dr. L) In Dublin, it has been very intimate indeed, but the atmosphere is
crazy from the moment I enter the club till I leave. Bigger events are less
personal but have other advantages. Looking forward to June 3rd!!!

And so are all of us here at the EC surgery. Get ready for some medicine!

Saturday June 3rd @ Temple Bar Music Centre.
