Charging for bins

    As I am planning on renting out my house soon I was wondering whether
    a landlord is required to pay for bin charges or the tenants. I would be
    prepared to pay the 80 euro basic but at the moment put my bin out once a
    month or so. I can envisage renters putting it out every week unless they
    had to pay for it.

    It is the landlord's legal responsibility to ensure that it is paid. The landlord's deal with the tenant is a separate matter. Depending on how your council charges (per bin, per kg) you could just make it another bill for hte tenants to pay.

    Make sure they have plenty of green bin space.

    Landlord doesnt have to pay bin charges. Think about it. Bin charges were brought in to encourage people to throw out less rubbish and recycle more. If you pay the bin charge for someone else, then where has their incentive gone?
    Put it in the lease that all rubbish charges are the reponsibility of the tenant.
