Barca to take this 2 or 3-1

Good luck to all the Arsenal fans, have a great night! If you're in for the same night as the pool had last year or United had in 99, then you'd better bring an oxygen mask.

I'm goin for draw/draw...and God know's what will happen in Extra Time.

Phew! Arsenal late showing up... arrived with 6 minutes to spare!

I'm definitely a bag of nerves right now. Took 3 days off work so I could go down the pub and watch the match. Right now, I'm virtually shaking. Looks like Pires to start ahead of Reyes.

3-1 barcelona and arsenal to be overwhelmed by the occasion, sitting back and not going all out attack for the 90mins.

fully expect a walkover if barca and ronaldinho are anywere near their best. hopefully they'll show what true champions are made of, after the flukes we've had in recent years ;)

Have the teams been named yet?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,312 ✭✭✭mr_angry

Yeah. Van Bommel plays for Barca instead of Iniesta.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,312 ✭✭✭mr_angry

Sky is hilarious... stunning difference between the punditry of Gullit and Redknapp. Gullit - class, insight, understanding. Redknapp - idiot. I wouldn't be surprised if Gullit strangles him before the end of the show!

    Arsenal:

    Lehmann, Eboue, Toure, Campbell, Cole,
Ljungberg, Hleb, Gilberto, Fabregas, Pires, Henry.

    Barcelona:

Valdes, Oleguer, Puyol, Marquez, Van Bronckhorst, Edmilson, Van Bommel, Deco, Giuly, Ronaldinho, Eto'o.

    Mike.

Lol Redknapp said Ronaldinho has a great Back side FFS.

Why oh why do they persist on having him there.

I think his exact words were "He's got big arms. He's got a big backside. He's a big boy!"

Yes, this is apparently top-quality punditry.

Anyway, I'm off to the pub. I just hope I'm singing on the way home! :)

Indeed, he quite literally fancies the arse off him...

Lets face it, Redknapp is just a pretty boy, and only got him because the BBC thought they had him for Match of the Day, he said no, and Sky promptly snaffled him.....

Lehmann has been sent of for the gunners. Barca went on to score and ref disallowed it. He has awarded a free kick on the edge of the box.

    Lehmann is off!

Can somebody explain to me why Lehmann coulda been sent off and advantage given?

Why does it have to be either

    red card and free kick
    OR
    goal

    Why can't it be both?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,881 ✭✭✭bohsman

    C'mon Barca

    Terrible reffereeing

  • Registered Users Posts: 192 ✭✭j22

Thats disgraceful. Why wasnt advantage played?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Doodee

    poor arsenal :/

did he take him down or was it a dive?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,731 ✭✭✭el rabitos

stupid decision from the ref. c'mon barca

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,051 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Really cant get my head around that one. That goal should have stood and then a yellow card maybe to the keeper.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 9,026 Mod ✭✭✭✭mewso

Can't see the sending off being disputed. It was blatant. Not playing advantage was a major booboo.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,914 ✭✭✭✭tbh

was a neutral, now up for Arsenal.

He took him with his hands as he was about to get past, ball went past Barca scored the ref bottled it.

Andy Gray insists it wasnt a sending off? WTF is he saying?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Doodee

i missed the replay but did he pull him down?

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 9,026 Mod ✭✭✭✭mewso

Yes grabbed his ankle with his hand.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

It was a red card and a goal.
The only people that have been screwed here is Barca.

Arsenal deserved everything that's come to them, but they got lucky, cause they should be a goal down.

Agreed but with Barca having the advantage of the goal maybe a yellow would have sufficed mind you after seen the replay it was a blatant Red.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 9,026 Mod ✭✭✭✭mewso

A sorry end for Pires too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

I wish Andy Grey would shut the **** up

The ref didn't ruin it, Lehmann did.

I'm sticking with George and Liam on this one.

Why didn't they allow the goal as well?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,420 ✭✭✭Doodee

2010: ""I think the referee never saw Giuly which is why he blew straight away. The referee had already made his mind up when contact was made on Eto'o.""

Mark Lawrenson on Five Live inside the stadium on why Lehmann was sent off.

Goal. Sol of all people. Amazing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 192 ✭✭j22

Campbell scores. His first ever goal in Europe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 166,026 ✭✭✭✭LegacyUser

****ing disaster. Campbell scored a goal. Pricks. It should now be 1 - 1.

Barcelona to win. Make no mistake about it.

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 9,689 Mod ✭✭✭✭stevenmu

Arsenal goal, Eboue (sp?) with the most blatant dive ever, and Cambell heads in off the free kick
