Hello,
I live in the apartments in the cedars, ridgewood and i am trying to get a phone line / broadband. I have paid the connection fee to Eircom back in Feb but they keep stalling. They have said that planning permission has not been applied for even though their is en eircom box outside the apartment. The builders have advised me that the cables were laid months ago.

Does anyone know about this? Has anyone been connected in these apartments yet? Eircom wont even get back to me when i lodge a complaint. They are driving me around the bend.

Any news would be a great help.

They have one year to install from first application which is next feb. After that Comreg will tell them they are naughty and will they please do something , please , please, please . Comreg will get thick with them by about August 2007 and will stop saying please .

Your issue is very common, this is Ireland and our telco is unregulated (in effect) and has no money to install and repair phone lines.

As Eircom have not acknowleged your complaint you may complain to Comreg that Eircom are

1. In breach of Eircoms own complaint procedure in not replying to you in 10 days
2. Have not given you an install date yet .

try consumerline@comreg.ie for that

Comreg will try to do anything rather than their job so enjoy !!!!!!
