I have a 95 Opel Astra that has been losing oil for a long time, now there is a wierd knocking noise in it and no power at all when I drive it. Can anyone tell me where I can bring it to have it fixed in the Bray/Greystones/Kilcoole Area? Is there an Opel Garage in the area or anyone else I can bring it to?? Please help, am new to the area and clueless......Thanks:))

Do you need to go to an Opel dealer? I'd say that brining it to a non-franchise dealer won't affect the re-sale value much at this stage.

Rodney Evans is in Delgany, and there are a couple of other garages in the Greystones area alone. Check out the "Greystones / Charlesland" forum, there have been a few threads on local mechanics.

Sounds like you need to get the head gasket changed.

Ensure that they slim the head.

Could any mechnic do the job or should I find an Opel Garage. And how much do you think It'll cost? I don't know if the car is worth throwing loads of money into! Thanks

Simple jobs any mechanic worth their weight can do it.

Should be no more than 250e including labour. Mind was 285e in an Opel Garage in Monaghan.

    Head Gasket kit
    Oil
    Oil Filter
    Coolant
    Sealant
    Labour.
