I presume you mean the Alfa Romeo Torpedo?

There's no heater in those, so you need to wear warm clothes ;)

Alfas are great cars to drive - they have a certain excitment about them. But I find them terribly unreliable. Personally I wouldn't buy one but I'd take one for a spin every now and then.

Alfa have some of the most gorgeous cars ever designed...but they can be as unreliable as they come.

Myself and my brother had early 156's and both of us had horrendous problems. My sister had a 147 and has only had minor problems with it (such as electric windows staying open for hours at a time).

Hopefully their dependability has improved in the last 2 or 3 years !

To be fair, this is true. But most makes and models don't breakdown. Any that are considered unreliable usually give problems that are more irritating rather than critical. Some give more problems than others. Nice and all that Alfas are to drive they are unfortunately one of the most problematic cars from the point of view of irritating problems. If they were reliable - like Toyota -they would probably one most desirable cars on the road.

Lots of people will probably post here and tell you how unreliable they are having never owned one in their life (like fiats).
The same people post threads about how their volkswagon dealer is ripping them off and not replacing their dodgey gearbox under warrenty.
