    I see that the search option has been disabled. Why is that?

    I would say its part of the update/upgrade of a new server.

    In the past, 'New Posts' and 'Search' have been disabled to reduce the load on the Boards servers. This is probably why they have been disabled again. You can be sure it is only 'temporary'. ;)
