Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great Southern Hotels sale process starts

    May 17, 2006 11:36

A major marketing campaign for the sale of Great Southern Hotels will start today with advertisements in the property sections of the national media and international press.

This follows the decision by the board of GSH in February to sell eight hotels on a going concern basis.

The sale process, which will be carried out by public tender, offers the hotels as one overall lot, as individual lots or as various combinations of lots. The deadline for receipt of tenders is Friday June 23.

In a statement, the board of the hotels said that since the decision was taken to sell them, GSH and its advisors had engaged fully with the employees and their representatives.

'This engagement process will continue to address any issues employees may have arising from the sale,' the company said.

The eight hotels for sale are located at Dublin, Shannon and Cork Airports, at Parknasilla and Killarney in Co Kerry, at Eyre Square and the Dublin Road (Corrib) in Galway city, and at Rosslare Harbour in Co Wexford.

I bet any money that the MARRIOTT hotel group will buy the great southern. If not CHOICE HOTEL IRELAND will. Not so much the hotels but the location they provide. Superb

Looking forward to a nice weekend away with hefty staff discount when we buy the Eyre Square operation. Does anyone have an address for T21Fan so I can send him a postcard :D;)
