Ahh, suffering this morning after a mad weekend supporting Lordi on Sat night and at PUSA last night.

Fair play Lordi, I am sick that I didnt bet more money on them tho.

In relation to the Poison thing, I thought it was only the backing "Ahhs" sounded a bit similar.

I would have loved to be at PUSA, were GAMAK supporting again?? Apparently there were lots of old women giving out about Lordi on the radio this morning.

You cant judge a genre on 1 Eurovision entry..
Btw Karl, that Dimmu Borgir song is class.

Yeah GAMAK were supporting, Jaysus they make some noise for two of them. I was quite impressed!!!!

That has to be one of the most ridiculous statements I've heard. You're judging all Scandinavian Metal on the basis of a single song from a single band? Not only that, but you somehow manage to think that a band that's on Eurovision of all things is actually representative of all Scandinavian Metal "At it's best"?

So, just for your benefit, here's some choice Scandinavian Metal:

    Children Of Bodom - Sixpounder
    Opeth - The Grand Conjuration
Sonata Arctica - Wolf & Raven
    Enslaved - ISA
    The Haunted - No Compromise
In Flames - Only For The Weak
    Meshuggah - Rational Gaze
    Hammerfall - Hearts Of Fire
Dimmu Borgir - Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse
    Arch Enemy - Ravenous
    Within Temptation - Mother Earth
    Emperor - Empty
Amon Amarth - Persuit Of Vikings

That should do it for the moment.
Nice list, good to have the links in one spot.
Never heard any scandanavian metal, lol.

Well done Lordi! I didn't believe hard rock could win the contest, but wow what a win! Lordi broke the Eurovision record for most points ever - 292, beating Ukraine's score of 280 in 2004.

Hopefully Lordi's win will encourage more professional musicians to enter Eurovision so it won't be full of amateurs.

Aw this is fookin brilliant. The song was pretty good although the eurovision is a joke and everyone knows it. most of lordis votes were only sent in for a laugh id say cos people didnt wanna vote for all the other cack on display.

Perhaps we're witnessing a new chapter in the eurovision?

We had a eurovision party and all voted for Lordi cause they rock. I got the impression that metal fans would be voting for lordi, what with all the publicity and all for the band.

Im delighted that Lordi won, but don't you think that theres gonna be a massive bandwagon created from this? The Linda Martins of other countries will probably think "oh, we need some new type of song, lets bring out something exactly like Lordi!".

People are already saying Mael Mordha should enter next year. Too late IMO
