www.blacknightsolutions.eu - excuse me, but WTF???

thats a bit of a suprise

    So I tried another domain

    http://www.register365.eu/ - again WTF
I've been working on rebuilding the .eu zone over the last few weeks. It is like trying to rebuild a phone directory without knowing what numbers or names are on it. So far, I've 1.25 Million .eu domains mapped out of 1.77 M or so. And the squatting is a lot worse than those two examples above. :)

That looks like very bad form. I hope it's customers of those companies that registered the domain names and not the companies themselves.

it would seem more likely that it is the actuall companies in my opinion since both are rivals to blacknight & hosting365, it would seem to be too much of a coincidence otherwise

You can check the details on http://www.whois.eu

So basically .eu domains are a red herring that have been squatted to death and are virtually useless. I wouldn't be too worried about it if I were Steve McCarron or that guy with the girls name who runs Blacknight. I'm just sorry I registered a .eu for my company thinking it would matter.

It has a high level of squatting/speculative registrations. But the core business registrations have not filtered into the zone because of the fact that only 1000 Sunrise domain applications are validated each day. So many Irish businesses may not see their .eu go live until around Christmas. But even so there are new .eu websites.

As a gTLD, .eu will take about five years to become established. It is a secondary domain and for credibility, .com and .ie and other ccTLDs would be more important until .eu is established.

They supposedly have a designer... or at least that's what the owner said when I rang him about a year ago regarding copyright breach.

I love the text on the site:
Unlimited Host is now one of the largest hosting providers in Ireland.

    In which reality?

With data centres based in Dublin, London and Boston

    Huh?

If they have data centers in Dublin, London and Boston, I have data centers in Houston, New York, Dublin, and two in Cork! Yay me!

Then that makes me a data centre, plus I also downloaded the internet and stored it on a floppy disk

If .eu domains weren't so worthless, the squatting would bother me more.

    Subject: Copyright Breach: http://www.unlimitedhost.ie/

    Hi there,

By chance I came across the following website, which in my opinion is in
breach of your own free web template T&C.

    http://www.unlimitedhost.ie/

I downloaded the exact same template for your site well over a year ago, and
was amazed to see this "uncanny resemblence". Unfortunately this person has
    removed any links to design-service-pro.com.

The conversation about this site and his template started here:
    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=51401458 (post 10 onwards)

If you do decide to pursue this I hope you give the company a hard slap on
    the wrist.

    Regards

    Michael

    Ya, I'm a bad bastard...
