Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Is there any way of finding out what network somebody is on, I was thinking of something like *200*087123456# which would tell you what network 087123456 was on.

Transferable phone numbers is great for competition but it makes it hard to find out how much your going to be paying for the phone call.

Apart from direct-dialling their mailbox and trying to identify it from there, I think that such a feature would violate the data protection act.

You get a beep when you call the number thats on a different network. So if you have an 087 on o2 it will beep.

You can also check you bill and it has what network the number is on.

Meteor customers can check if a number is with Meteor or not by texting the number to 50004.

I'm not aware of any other method of checking this, except the off-net tone when dialling the number. But I can understand why this would be wanted because I've heard several cases of people getting phones as gifts but for the wrong network (e.g. buying an O2 phone for someone with an 086 number but they happen to be on Vodafone)

Calling 087<5>123456 is the best way and hope they have a standard voicemail. Or you could be really cheeky and call Vodafone and say "My number is 087123456 and i can't seem to make calls" and wait for the "that's because your number has been ported to meteor sir" :D
