Damien, one of our carded athletes, is heading of to represent us at the Junior International Air Rifle Match in Suhl soon and we wish him well. This is the first time in a couple of years that Ireland has send a junior to this match. Many countries will be represented from all over the world and the standard is very high. Damien is using this match as a marker for future development and hopefully as a stepping stone to competing in European and World Championships later on.

Best of luck Damien - shoot well!

The NTSA is sending a delegation of two to this years competition.

Damien Fagan will be representing Ireland at this years Junior International held in Suhl Germany from 24th to 27th May...

Damien having recently been award a Junior Carding Grant by the Irish Sports Council for his achievements last year is hoping to continue his progress up the International rankings, and setting a new Irish Junior record score.

He will be accompanied in Suhl by his father Leslie, a seasoned Irish target shooter having represented Ireland at numerous Internationals both in Europe and USA.

Leslie will be Head of Delegation on this occasion.

Damien will be competing with, what the German Shooting Federation (DSB) rightly claims to be “the international elite of junior shooters” with teams from the four corners of the World taking part.

The NTSA wish both Damien and Leslie a safe and successful journey.

Results are up here. Damien put in a respectable 577, which will qualify him for carding grants next year. He's also gotten batch-tested ammunition for his air rifle and had the rifle itself serviced by Feinwerkbau, so he's hoping for an improvement on 577 on his return.

I take it that's more than a wipe of an oily rag and a squirt of WD-40?
