    I have a CZ 452 .22lr. Cost me 400 Euro new.
Fantastic work rifles in my opinion, very accurate.;)

    Have a CZ 453 Lux .22LR for 5 or 6 years now.
Paid about €350 for it. Fine gun.
Works well with pretty much any make of ammunition.

    Have a look at:

    Good review at:

    Can't go wrong with a CZ ..

I had a .22 LR in the LUX model .. nice hunting rifle with iron sights,
The back of the stock curves down in what is known as a "Hogsback"
This leaves it perfect for using the iron sights but less so if you use a scope.

Mainly for this reason I changed to this..
    CZ 452 Silhouette

It is perfect for use with a scope and has an all-weather stock.

Have to agree, I have this model with the stainless steel barrel.
Fantastic Gun, 10,000+ rounds fired with no problems, easily cleaned and the ammo is still cheap!!

OT but what is the practicle diff between a bull barrel and a standard one?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,464 ✭✭✭Double Barrel

    In a word, accuracy.

    Maglite,
Some good reading and info at the linked site.

"The origins of accuracy or inaccuracy in a rifle barrel may be difficult to distinguish in an off-the-shelf hunting rifle that is capable of shooting mere one inch groups. Only in a properly constructed benchrest rifle will the details appear that make a barrel accurate become apparent. A couple ten thousandths of an inch variation in a barrel's dimension doesn't matter much in a hunting rifle, but the variation will show up in a rifle capable of shooting five shots into .125-inches or less at 100 yards." Threw in my Sako Finnfire recently and replace it with a CZ Varmit......and a CZ Style.......gonna give the prone sporting rifle a bit of a go next year.....anyway....only had a chance to put a few rounds through the Varmit so far.......once in competition (ouch) and a few rounds to sight in the scope. Seems like a great little rifle.......nothing wrong that a half decent trigger spring wont sort out.....
The Style looks grand....fired a mates to sort out his scope and was well impressed.....hence the purchases....
Enjoy the CZs....cheap accurate fun......something quite rare in the shooting world!

sorry now, correct me if I'm wrong, but are we talking about air rifles here?only the picture above looks like an air rifle but who knows.
I have a BSA .177,again re we on about air rifles or should I just leave?

No air rifles in this thread, .22lr is a rimfire powder burning cartridge.

What about it makes you think it might be an air rifle?
I see a turnbolt and a removable magazine, both of which tell me this is a cartridge firearm. No sign of a piston or cylinder which I'd expect to see on an air gun.
I'm not looking to be critical here, just curious.

Oh, and welcome to the forum. :)

    well done it is
there is more than enough room to storea cylinder in the stock/butt and i have seen airrifles with a not too disimular bolt
