I would like to get into Shooting

Could someone advise me on how I might start out?

I got the urge to take up this sport after a friend introduced me to his rifle and shotgun a couple of years ago. It was brilliant fun as well as being an outdoor sport.

I live in the UK at the moment, so if anyone has info on that please share. When I get back to Ireland I'd like to maybe join a club, but what way can I get into it without making a large outlay for a gun and license.

Is there a guide or something I could see??

The UK is fairly well served with rifle and clay clubs, pretty much all of which welcome new members (trying to keep numbers up). Most UK clubs have clubs guns (in most that's all you can shoot as you need to complete a 6 month probation before being accepted as a full member and are alllowed apply for a licence).

Whereabouts in the UK are you, and would you be interested in both rifle and shotguns, or predominantly one of them?

cheers, i'm based in warwickshire in the UK. Would probably be interested in Rifle target shooting rather than shotguns/clay shooting.
