    Hey has anyone got freeview here in or around waterford???Or has anyone tried to pick it up and found them selves unable to do so??

    i would say it is impossible unless you live on really high ground and can receive perfect reception on the uk analogue stations direct from the uk

    I have been looking ito this recently.
    You can get a package locally which is similar to freeview but not quite the same. It is "Free to Air" because there is no subscription fee. Actual "Freeview" is only available in the UK.

    Toner Electronics sell you the dish, cabling, receiver ( think it's a Sky box)
    for about €300. Unsure if this includes installation.

    Dalton TV, who used to be in City Square have a similar package.

    You will see ITV channels are not listed. If you know someone in Britain who can buy you a UK viewing card, this will allow you to get all ITV stations also.

    actually all the ITV's are completely free these days. no need for a card. only need a card for Channel 4 and five these days. worth it imo for five alone

    €300 imo would want to include installation
