    Are there any people out there specialising in credit record management? The credit bureau has completely screwed up my records and I want them corrected, however I don't want to jump through red tape hoops to get it done, I'd rather pay someone that knows them all already.

    EDIT: For clarity, I already have my credit record, now I want to correct it.

    Tell ICB what it should be , give them 48 hours to correct it. They will not so do. Then throw the full battery of artillery at them.

    Try the data protection commissioner , dodgy private data and all that .
    Also set ombudsman on them for luck .
    Also set IFSRA on the Bank/Finance House that supplied the wrong data to the ICB

    Normally an amendment has to come from the institution that send bull**** about you to the ICB, lets say the Mank Of Ireland PLC

    You set the Data Protection Commissioner on the Mank Of Ireland PLC Data Protection guy who liases with the DPC because his data on his database is wrong .

    9. What if there is a mistake on my report?

    Mistakes can and do happen. They may be caused by either you or your lender.

    you might make a mistake in completing your direct debit form and miss a loan repayment on the due date;
    or
    your lender might have agreed to let you postpone payments for a period, but forgot to change the report it sends to ICB.

    By law, financial institutions must ensure that information they hold or give to anyone else about you is correct and up to date. So you have the right to insist that they correct any incorrect information about you.

    If you find a mistake in your report, ask your lender to write to the ICB with details of the change, and request a copy of their letter.

    Most lenders will act to correct any mistake and amend your credit report immediately however, if you experience problems or delays or if your lender fails to put things right for you, you can consider making a formal complaint and referring the matter to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

    Please note: ICB cannot change your credit report unless a lender requests it to do so in writing.

    It is the lenders who screwed up not the ICB.

    Only the lenders can direct ICB to change. If they do not then you have a case against them under the data protection act.

    It wouldn't be BOI by any chance? They made a huge stinker of an error on my record, but it was very easy to get rectified. Bascially they had left nearly 2k on a loan on the record that was in fact cleared in full. No wonder I couldn't get a loan for 3 years....
