Extract taken from the CRO Information Leaflet 7 (dated DEC 2005):

    1. COMPANIES INCORPORATED UNDER THE COMPANIES ACTS 1963-2005
    ..................
1.3. The following particulars must be shown on all business letters of a company
    (a) The full name of the company (note that the only permissible abbreviations are “Ltd”
for “Limited”, “Teo” for “Teoranta”, “Plc” for “Public Limited Company”, etc).
    (b) The forename (or initials) and surnames and any former forenames and surnames of the
directors and their nationality, if not Irish.

What does the nationality of directors have anything to do with anything? As long as 1 of the directors is based in Ireland what difference does it make what their nationality is?
Is this a case of discrimination???

    i would call it protection..

As a non EEA national, I would have to obtain work permit to work here... EEA citizens do not have to... would that be discrimination then?...

You could argue it's discrimination against EU citizens, but how exactly does it cause harm and therefore create a basis for a challenge? Since everyone without a nationality designator is Irish, it's the same as putting (Irish) after their names. Identifying the nationality of directors is important for various reasons, irish citizens are identified as well as non-irish, but simply by the absence of a nationality designator.
