Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am going to a ball in a few weeks time and I am trying to decide whether to rent a tuxedo or some highland wear e.g. a kilt and all of the other paraphernalia! Has anybody else rented one? What is the cost in comparision with just renting a normal tuxedo?

Not sure on cost difference, but pay the extra, they're around €300 from black tie, and they look amazing, when a guy wears the full outfit (not just a kilt and a t shirt) it looks so sexy!!!!!;)

It's worth it, I'm telling you, the ladys numbers will be rolling into your hand.....and since you'll be wearing a kilt, you can keep them in your sporran (the little furry purse on the front of the kilt):D

I went to a wedding in Scotland and I rented a Kilt from blacktie in fairview. They gave me everything I needed for the outfit - shoes, socks, sporran etc.

As I recall, it came to about €270/300. It was definatly well worth it.

Id say go for it, But I have the feeling your not going to be the only guy there wearing that kind of outfit, so you wont be original!

I just rang Blacktie in Ranelagh and they said €175 for the night for everything! But you must leave either a credit card number or a €300 deposit!

if you're going to a fancy dress wear a kilt. If you're going to a black tie affair wear an evening suit.
