Hmm - according to my MACI diary that would have clashed with the Newbridge Scale Gala, but I think the Scale Gala is not going ahead this year.

    Done :)

Yep.. That's since they don't want to mix scale Planes and scale gliders...
    All scale, but not scale...

And tow planes ???? Never heard of that !

But things are going to change !

    Fred

Of course ... a scale glider can't be a scale plane as well
Anyway - all scale planes are Spitfires ... aren't they? :D
    All scale, but not scale...
But if there's no engine ... It can't fly !!! And where do you put the nitro fuel? :p
And tow planes ???? Never heard of that !
Errrr - What's a tow plane? I only know highwing, low wing, helicopter. Do you tow it behind your car? ;)
But things are going to change ! ... Fred
I know they are, Fred. but will we live long enough?

    I forgot to ask ....

    Fred:
On a glider with no engine - what makes the propeller go round ? :-)

Hey Mister: How high does it go?

Mister: Crash it! Go on - crash it !!

    Aaah it's no good ... it's not A REAL PLANE !

Hey Mister: How high does it go?

If theres no wheels - how does it come down?

If it is a glider - how can you steer it?

Hey Mister: How high does it go?

Hey you! You can't fly here with that glider .... those planes are too noisy !

My brudder had a REAL PLANE with A REAL ENGINE - he broke it after 12 seconds! BUT IT WAS MUCH BETTER THAN YOUR'S !!

Is that place flying all by itself right now?

Hey Mister: How high does it go?

I have an old plane in the garden with a wing from a plank, and a fuselage from some wavin pipe, and a rusty old engine .... If I bring it to you, will YOU make it fly?

I crashed a plane I bought 2nd hand ten years ago I think I have the glowplug left........ will YOU rebuild it for me?

Aaah please ... CRASH IT !

Mister: Does it drop bombs on people and things .... ?

Hey Mister: How high does it go?

Excuse me: When it's flying like that right now - do you have to do anything?

    How high .........

    :D:D:D

    99% agree :p
But this is one of the only country I know not to mix (ok, ok, not all the time !!) scale glider and scale planes in meeting. I've tried once.. And never again ! Believe me ! Just remember the guys telling to go playing with my toys elsewhere...Ignorants ! Yep, the same guys who are flying the same trainer for the past 10 years... I have lots of examples ! And not only for gliders...

Ho yeah.. forgot.. You have to pay to participate to a meeting !  Incredible ! Even flying in a meeting is expensive in Ireland ! (sorry, French mood coming back ! :D:D )

For the things going to change, a Glider National, it's the first step, but believe me, things are moving, and faster than you can imagine ! ;) In fact, that's easy.. Simply stop listening the guys who don't even have a clue what they are talking about or theorise a lot, get a bunch of motivated people, and here you go ! :D

    Fred - ok, a bit angry...:p

    :D:D:D:D

    Totally right !

That's why I hate more and more flying in Keelake (that, and the rubbish... Total disgrace !) ! Or you have to go far away from the car park !
But the pb is not from the "public" I can understand those...Hummm... questions...:D

But from guys in a model field who fly models... Don't understand.. The best things is to stay quiet... and leave... Some will never learn...

    >>But how can you do gliders when four stroke engines are sooooo quiet?
    >>Err no - seeing as you ask - I don't have a 4-stroke myself, mine is an MDS 2-stroke , but it starts !

    :D

    It takes all sorts Fred.
We just seem to have extra of one particular sort. :p

    All scale :

    T6_et_Bearcat_2.jpg

2 of mine. The T6 flew 1 or 2 French Nationals and won several regional contests, the Bearcat was for training.
    And I still have a P47 at home ! ;)

Yeah already asked ! looks like I'm at the slope now ! :p:p

Forgot this.. The guy with his 4x4 noisy motor on your back for 2 hours while you are flying... In silence !

Fred - More and more angry !

I get the same questions more or less:mad: Really pisses me off:rolleyes:

..... The guy with his 4x4 noisy motor on your back for 2 hours while you are flying... In silence !...Fred
That is one which I have not had the pleasure ( ) yet.
No doubt it's coming to a cinema near me - as they say :)

Couple of years ago. A friend was flying in a Spanish club on holidays. He lands off the runway, and is about to go and collect the model.
But a local guy says: Be careful of the ditch.
So he goes to get his model at the far side of the field and - lo and behold - there is a ditch like what they had at Normandy beaches in WWII.
After an energetic climb down, up again, gets the model, down into the ditch and up again, and back to the runway .... he says to the local club member: why the heck is that fool ditch so dangerously deep for, or words to that effect.
    The local guy replies:
It's to stop the 4 x 4 guys ripping up the runway. They leave it all churned up and clay and ruts and destroyed.
We tried asking. We tried everything else. Nothing worked until we got the anti-4x4 ditch. Now our runway is nice again! :D

    That was a good idea.

    Nice one !

Same thing in my old flying field in France... But with tanks ! Army training at the old airfield we were. They've destroyed absolutely everything !

We went in court and they (we... public money..) pay to repair everything !

    Fred

So you have the Irish system in France too!

  • Registered Users Posts: 351 ✭✭loopingfred

Going in court for everything ? No, not yet, but when it's the army.. No mercy ! :D
But before that, we first talk to the colonel, general and so on... And that ended in court. Much quicker ! ;) ... Sometimes..

Actually I wasn't thinking of going into court for everything - but you definitely have a point there !
I was thinking of "the public - us - paying" for what was messed up by someone else !

  • Registered Users Posts: 351 ✭✭loopingfred

Oh yeah, for that, yes, definitively the same thing !
    I think that's an International thing !

They don't care, it's our money !
