Hi Guys.. first post here so apologies if it's in the wrong place!

    I want to build a cheap Small Form Factor PC for my parents so having the best gear is not an issue. The main things I'm looking for are minimal size and cost. Been looking on Komplett and I've come up with the foillowing;

    AMD Sempron 2800+ 1.6GHz Socket 754, 256KB (79.94)
    Aopen XC Cube EX761 (192.00)
    Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM (89.95)
    Corsair XMS PRO 3200 DDR-DIMM 512MB CL2 32Meg x 8, 400MHz (69.01)
    BenQ DVD±RW burner, (42.00)
Sony Floppy Drive, 3,5" 1,44MB Black, Internal (9.99)
    Logitech Cordless Desktop EX110, USB/PS2, (28.89)
    BenQ 17" LCD T705 TCO99 Monitor, (199.00)

    Total 710.78

I know there are cheaper systems out ther (i.e. Dell) but I really like SFF.

    Any comments/suggerstions highly appreciated!

If I am reading this right:
    Corsair XMS PRO 3200 DDR-DIMM 512MB CL2 32Meg x 8, 400MHz (69.01)
thats 8 sticks? and they are 32mb each? f so, that cant be good:rolleyes:
Id say these would be better: http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=302394 (I still have to learn about ram :P)
I notice the Cube pc is a barebones system, and komplett only stock semprons for amd socket 754
Also I recommend with athlon 64 rather than a sempron processer, but you are kinda confined to sempron with that mobo. I dont have alot of time right now and I dont know a whole lot yet, so... sorry I cant offer any other help:(
    hope I helped:)

    Hehe, no. That's the chips on the RAM module. 32meg chips x 8 = 256mb. So the 512mb is 2x 256mb modules (naturally :))

Please tell me that you're joking...

mkecof: Get this ram instead. Cheaper and good enough for the usage that you are planning for the PC.
Also, drop the floppy, unless they absolutely need it. It's ancient technology and useless, unless you have a specific reason/use for it.
