please help me! i really want to get my helx pierced, but i don't know anything about cartilage piercing, and i'd really like some advice.
Do you pierce both ears, or just one? and which one? and is it really dangerous to have it done with a gun, or is it ok? and what kind of studs can you wear?:confused::confused:

    please help!!!

It is absolutely not ok to get a cartilage piercing done with a gun! The gun is not even really good for a normal ear piercing.
The reason that the gun is no good for cartilage is that it can shatter the cartilage when it hits it at high speed, there is no control of the forces compared to a needle that is hand poked.
Some people will go ahead and get it done with the gun anyway, others will have major problems and infections and the possibility that the cartilage will die and a large hole can be left behind, similar to the way a cailiflower ear happens.

I dont think you're talking about studs as such unless you are getting an old-school gun piercing and like I say no one advises that anymore especially not when it comes to cartilage.

    BME article on piercing guns.

    BME article on studs.

Have a look at those articles.
Also have a look at this to give you an idea of piercings, some of the stuff is not suitable for work so dont click into the genital stuff, but then you knew that.

If you read that lot then anymore questions here are redundant. ;)
