Heinz all the way. Chef has a certain spicy character that I find offensive and limiting.

I remember that crap that came in huge bottles it was garbage - did it have any connection to tomato?

I think in the land of "The Simpsons" it would have been called "Catsup" but I had to live with it for many years. And then alas came the Chef.

I know it can be a bit vinegary but I like that.

    Keep the votes comin

o_O I hope this doesn't go the way of the infamous 'Brown Sauce' thread.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,307 ✭✭✭quazzy

This is strictly a Ketchup Thread.

All non-ketchup related condiments WILL be reported to Mods ;)

    So that means NO....
Brown sauce, BBQ, Country Relish or worcestershire sauce.

    Keep it ketchup ppl.

Chef by far. It has this unbeatable kinda....tang? to it. I find Heinz too boring....I remember that stuff that came in the giant red plastic bottles, I quite liked it actually

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The 'brown sauce thread' was purportedly about brown sauce, but in actuality a spamfest. Spam is ok too, but it will be shunted to the Cuckoo's nest if it goes too far down that route.

Also, the answer is clearly Heinz. Chef is disgusting cheap-vinegary tripe.

Heinz ftw! (and yes, the Organic Heinz is included in that)

    oh... I see.

Well let's hope it doesn't get that bad.

    Back to the voting.

    Heinz is in the lead
...behind by 2 lengths is "The CHEF"
    ...followed closely by "Atari Jaguar"
...and bringing up the rear is "The BIG ASS bottle of Candy Catsup"

    Come On Chef.....

i find the thought of chef being better than heinz quite offensive and insulting!

its heinz by a country mile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heinz, but only in a glass bottle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,780 ✭✭✭JohnK

Its Chef for me but I find I have to switch to Heinz every few weeks just so I can appreciate the splendour that is Chef.

Holy $h1t-balls Batman...That's a big ass messy thread. Now I know what Shabadu meant.

    ....Back on topic....

Anywho, the voting trend shows that Heinz is clear favourite by 3 to 1.

But Im not givin up. I have to believe there are more CHEF lovers out there.

We've still got 6 days of voting....

I wonder if the tobacco companies will sponsor an advertising blitz for the price of my soul....

Its Chef all the way for me. I like Heinz aswell but I thing it just doesnt hit the spot the way Chef does. I would not totally disregard Kandee. It can be ok sometimes over chips (chips only nothing else), depending on the mood.

I have an unhealthy relationship with Ketchup, as with other condiments like Brown sauce. I eat them directly from the bottle.

    Another vote for Chef.

Same. It's by far the superior ketchup, but every now and then I have to go back to Heinz so I can experience what boring tastes like.

But I always return to that spicy, vinegary, *cheap loveliness of Chef

(*ketchup is supposed to taste cheap and vinegarry. If you want "organic" ketchup, well then maybe you should rethink whether you really want any ketchup at all.... and maybe go have some... I don't know... some... some girly condement)

    Well said Joe.
It's the Vinegar taste that does it for me. I just love it. :D

Well thats 3 votes for Chef in a row... Keep 'em comin'

    Actually
I think Lidls ketchup is best , better than heinz and in a different league to that vile solution of acetic acid called chef.

  • Registered Users Posts: 141 ✭✭Sauce

I dunno is it just me or does chef make dunnes stores own brand ketchup

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,307 ✭✭✭quazzy

    @ tSubh Dearg:
    no fair :(

    @CJ:
    Lidl is a Non-Runner

    @Sauce:
I dont have a clue, but you could be right - its sounds like a good way to compete / fight the Heinz dominated Ketchup market.

    Heinz!

Chef has a .... plastic fatty texture to it, it just doesn't stick to things aswell as heinz does.

I was tempted to vote for Candy, that bottle was great! It'd take ages to run out, not like those tiny bottles you can get heinz and chef in. They'd only last for one meal.

Heinz but i will eat chef np there Brown sauce in the biz

Long time Chef fan, now converted to the ways of Anthony O Reilly's Heinz. I'll take either, but Heinz ftw.

Where's the hellman's option? Used to be a heinz man but then discovered hellmans in small portion 'sticks'. It's much thicker than heinz and you don't get a big vinegar/oil runoff. They don't just do mayo you know!
