Given that Hobbes hasn't posted, so I'm presuming that the last poster didn't win:

I had a look at this a couple of weeks ago, and was hoping that the clues would help but they haven't so I thought I'd share what I'd come up with.

Hobbes said it was all about numbers-

The numbers on the top right of the image are the grid size (443 - 419) in pixels

This divides the image up into an 8x6 grid.

If you divide the image up into squares this size you'll find that the black text (which was RGB000 in the original) has been lightened by a different value in each square. using a dropper tool, you can extract these numbers from the grid:
    37 36 60 14 0 50 60 23
     0 19 12 14 32 34 48 5
    22 18 59 14 114 11 59 5
    56 24 0 14 9 25 0 5
    36 11 60 14 113 19 60 5
    31 46 29 14 106 27 30 23

However what these numbers point to I have no idea, how do you get to 9 words from 48 numbers? any ideas?

    Edited to add:
When the first clue came in i thought they were boards.ie attachment refs, but that didn't work.

Then the 114 stood out as there are 114 suras in the koran, so I went looking if they could be sura/verse/word refs, but again nothing :(

    Drake is going west, lads
    So Tom is going East
    But tiny Fred
    Just lies in bed,
    The lazy little beast.

Not particularly hopeful, still think I'm missing something - but here goes:

Cartagena, Kampala, Hong Kong, Denmark, Changzi, San Elizario Island

    Possibly even:

Mediterranean, Mpigi, Lo So Shing, Denmark, Changzi, El Paso

    or

La Union, Kampala, Hong Kong (airport?), Vedso, *Anyang*, El Paso

Putting this competition out of its misery! :D Congrats. :)

Actually you are more or less correct.

Your explanation on the numbers was correct and as you pointed out they are geographic locations. The first one is actually a place called "Spiritus Sancti".

The acclaim and the glory are enough for me, how about donating the prize to this year's SSF?

    congrats.

    solution please tho?

he gave you the solution already.

Here it is in basic form.

    1. Taking the numbers from the top right of the picture you would notice that there was a grid of black in the same picture at that pixel distance.

    2. In this grid each square of the grid had different ink (hence the squid doll, tattoo clues).

    3. If you got the value of each of these you would be given a list of numbers.

    4. These numbers where in fact geographical long/lat co-ordinates to the locations he mentioned (what I wanted was a lot closer to the location but google maps misbehaves, hence I took the higher value).

incidently the first place on the list of locations was called Spirtu Sancti.
