I need to convert TIFF image files (images of printed pages) into text for use in HTML or PDF.

Has anyone any experience of OCR software such as Adobe Capture or Acrobat 7.0 Pro?

I have a feeling OCR software may be more trouble than it's worth unless the TIFF files are really crisp & the formatting uncomplicated...

the "Microsoft Office Document Imaging" tool can recognise text from .tiff files - open it and select "recognise text using ocr"

this tool comes as default with office, (though might depend on which type of office - e.g. premium, student edition etc.)

    cheers
