What do you think? Good? Bad? I think it is still very slayer and very good, but not the best ive heard from them.

Metallica havent had a good album since 1990, Slayer havent had a good album since 1990....hmmmmm...

EDIT: i have listened. i have cast my vote. mediocre at best. thats really nothing special, and i hope its not one of the better tracks off the album.

the intro is class. like the opening riff at thr same time it sounds very God hates Us All to me. I like tht album but i don't want to hear it again. Nice ending riff too

Ditto. Very nice intro, the rest really was a let down. Needs to be far faster and more aggressive.

Divine Intervention beats the crap out of any Metallica album.

Let's not say things we might regret! :)

The song is alright....but not much more than that imo. Might take a few listens. I'll still most definately be buying the album.

Kill Em All > Divine Intervention
Ride The Lightning > Divine Intervention
Master of Puppets > Divine Intervention
    ;)

    **** this,
God Hates Us All and can in no way be even put in a league similar to the ****e metallica spewed during the 90's post-black album,
Seasons in the abyss and ride the lightning are there respective best albums in my opinion and well for me seasons in the abyss kills ride the lightning.

    Edit--
Oh yea, i thought cult was a good song, not great but definately listenable, and if the album is that quality hopefully a few gems it could be great.

Great intro, not gone on the rest. No comparing metallica to Slayer, Metallica don't stand a chance.
    Oops a comparison.:)

EDIT: It's kind of grown on me, will listen a few more times.

I'd take load or reload over God Shat a Turd on Us All.

I love that album, I would rather use load and reload as frisbees than cds. :)

Oh and I've just listened to the song linked above (I kind of missed the point of the thread lol). I liked the intro but once it got into it I thought it was a bit meh. Especially after listening to Reign in Blood all day.

Still havent listened to it cause i cant for some reason its gay and wont let me play it....dam gay interweb.

As for post 90s slayer being **** i say how dare you sir, I think post 90s slayer is there best work. Its not a view everyone takes cause its not as heavy or fast as pre 90s slayer but i dunno bostaphs beats and the change of pace gives way more depth to there sound.

One thing i gotta ask is the drum production still at the o man i think i came in my pants level?

in light of what your saying here i can already tell your ghoing to hate the album... from what weve heard anyway... with you hating dave lombardo your gonna miss what paul bostaph brought over the 90's. The drumming production has gone back to the seasons day IMO and the same with the drumming style... you wont like it barry

Heard it there sven my boy, Its not bad but its like they took 2 steps forward and 3 steps back.Bland drumming(not that i call lumbardo crap, just boring imo) the guitar work is pretty cool its like a mix of gemini and some other song, The singings still there but its seemed to have lost the malice and the agression that was there before. 3/5 in my book but hopefully this is one of those filler tracks that slayer have so many of.

i was listening to it on the bbc radio 1 rock show and all through listening to the song i kept recognising riffs and thinking back to diabolus in musica with a hint of disicple from god hates us all. i was unimpressed, after i got god hates us all i've barely listened to them, even though i'd rank them as one of my favourite bands.

What's worse is that this is all very misleading as to the final product, I've heard Jihad and another track which do not match up in terms of ferocity with Cult, they're more like Diabolus, slow and uninteresting. Poor indeed.

Didn't they say it is going to be a mix of all their stuff...hmmmmm.
I don't know what to think.

After listening through it a few times its really grown on me, except maybe the chorus thats too big a change from the natural flow of the song imho :D
