    Hi

I've a BMW 318i (1998) and today the yellow ABS light came on and stayed on. Also the light that indicates traction control is off came on.

    Any ideas whats wrong?

This will be a dealer or specialist jobbie.
Dunno where you re based but have a look at www.bmwcarclubireland.com/contacts.php for some helpful specialists that will sort you out.
If around Dublin call into Alan in AC Car Sales [www.accarsales.com] - cheaper than a dealer.

grey ABS relay for the ABS light 9 times out of 10 if it's an E36.

    thanks,

if it is the relay problem as suggested below is this expensive to fix?

Also, I bought it second hand from a garage and it is still under guarantee.

Would this sort of thing be 'normal' or not. Just wondering if my guarantee will cover it.

It depends what the guarrantee covers - on most 2nd hand cars the guarrantee only covers 'engine and gearbox'. Best advice is to read the guarrantee documentation or contact the garage that sold the car.
