No wind here at all today.

No sea breeze even,if this keeps up my record high (only 23c) will be passed.

Remember my station is in an exposed open field on a hill 2 miles from the sea so we dont usually get too high there due to the sea breezes kicking off.

Anyway heres the view from here looking north showing the convection over the wicklow mountains and its quite impressive.

Looks brilliant, clouds rapidly developing here too.Bit misty though.Wasnt really optimistic for today as the front out west will kill off shower activity as it approaches.

Theres something on the latest rainfall radar appearing over wicklow now.
I watched the thing develop literally from nothing over the course of 2 hrs while working outside.
    Talk about home grown :)

some large cb's fast developing over the south of the wicklow mountains and are visible from here.
    I'll post photo's in a few minutes.

Just been in Arklow, and they looked great. Back home now and it appears to be moving north at a reasonable pace, and appears to be heading over Dublin shortly if not already

Now NW of me, perhaps level with Bray.

see them now and there towering up.

Got quite hazy now, but appears to be towers forming down the length of the Wicklow mtns, so potential is there if the track continues northwards

Yeah,Just had a guy from delaval here, he was up in Ashford and said the thunder was very loud, but just a few spits of rain.

Theres lots more cb's developing now but this time more west of me around croghan mt.
They are fairly extensive so we havent seen the last of this.

It's warm here too but theres a sea breeze.
The wind in Dublin is west or north west hence the higher temps.

Click for the larger image on that and scroll down to Ireland.

You can see the storm over the wicklow mountains as a tiny white blob and the only one on the island at the time.
Isnt nature great-that developed initially from cb's over wicklow that formed since 9am this morning.
    We grew our own :D

What happened to the 'spectacular' breakdown across the water?. Dull and drizzilly seems to be reported there by most.

Today I dont think we will see much more action, hope im wrong though.

BTW, this is the chart for next Wednesday. look familiar?;)

I dont think we've seen the last of it yet.
Theres some shower activity building over the mt leinster area of the carlow wexford border and I can see some huge cbs west of here and over head.

This evening could yet get interesting!

Yes saw that Wexford one on the radar a while back, and towers are really climbing again here and to my north.

    Should certainly be more action
