I had never considering stretching my lobes before but I recently saw someone with their lobes only slightly stretched. It would have been a bit smaller than the 2nd piercing in this picture: http://www.steve.org.uk/body/images/index.php?image=stretch4.jpg&d=d.html

Does anyone have any idea what guage this is? Can I stretch my lobes to a smaller width than that (does that make sense?)? Would piercers do this for me as I physically cannot hurt myself! Finally, what would it cost (roughly) to get it stretched?

I think its about €20 to get em stretched, but the jewellery is gonna cost you the most. You can stretch em as lil as you want, but the jewellery you will be able to put in will be limited.
Stretching isnt ment to hurt at all seemingly, as long as its done properly. Il find out in about a month though :D

Look like a 12 and a 5 in that pic. The problem with smaller strechs is finding tunnels for em. 5's are about as small as you can get really tho you might get a 4 somewhere. Have a route around wildcats site, they might do a flesh tube in 4 but I dont remember seeing them.

Re streching itself, as long as you have a healed ear lobe piercing and dont rush theres very little pain. Once its lubed up the taper will slip through quite easily. There might be a bit of a sting for a couple of seconds but it will pass in under a minute as long as you dont rush. ie 1.6 to 2.4, 2.4 to 3.2 etc It will sting quite a bit if you try jumping any faster.

I actully done a kind of diary type thing on streching mine to tens there recently another site, http://www.underground1.net/viewthread.php?tid=1379 and that has pics of all the sizes from 5 to ten, you might find it helpful.

:EDIT: Actully wildcat do flared eyelets from 2.4 up so your sorted!

Six weeks would be advisable between each stretch so the blood supply can grow back in and everything settles down before you traumatise the tissue again.

<edit> Brian's a piercer if he reckons he can handle the stretches like that then fair enough he can deal with it quick enough and sort it, non-piercing people shouldn't chance it.

Yea do take your time, i rushed it myself but could look after it myself. That link was only intended as somehting to compare the size of each piece of jewellary whilst in the ear and a idea of how it felt. And then theres the fact if you go really quick your gonna be flying through jewellary really quick and it can get expensive! lol

the 2nd piercing in that looks like about a 4 to me aswell. someone said its hard to get smaller than this? i started off with a basic gun ear piercing, then i moved up with a ball closure ring which was about a 1.5, then up to a 3.2, then up to 4, then 5 , then 6 which im on at the moment. its a lovely size in my opinion ..its quite cheap to get done in bray. at least it was last time i went there. they did a thing where if you baught the jewlery there (Cost about 5-10 euro) they would put it in for you.

Another money saving thing i did wit hthe ears was i had one ear ahead of the other, so instead of buying two pieces of jewlery the same size, i would be able to have one on 4 and one on 2 then use the size 4 jewlery in the two one. then when you get to the size you like buy two pieces . if that makes any sense !!!:D nine lives in bray is where i was talking about...i didnt find the dude in metal morphosis very nice at all at all now tbh...
