I have a stock cpu fan on my 64 3500+ at the moment not overclocked.. Now its used as a media centre and the fan is loud... What Db usually would a stock fan be? And what would be a quiet fan been looking at the 12-21db fans on komplett

The zalmon fans are pretty quiet on low volts, I'd go for one of them if it fits.

Keep an eye on CFM spec as well to see how much air they are pumping. Can you turn the speed of the current fan down ?

Maybe a fanmate2 fan speed control might be useful, or some kinda software that does it.
