Posting of reported posts and banning

Hi,

I'm looking for a review of a banning I recieved for calling another posters post idiotic, on the soccer forum. The thread is here => http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054884997 and the post in question is here => http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=51499364&postcount=254 . Apparently I am banned for 2 weeks for calling the posters post idiotic. This is despite the fact, if you read the post I have quoted, that the user was so eager to post a retort he actually ended up posting completely erroneous, incorrect, idiotic and misleading "facts".

The mod in question, Kdjac, has also informed the community that I had "the nerve" to report this users other posts.

This is a clear abuse of his moderation. My understanding is that the reported post fuction is there as a means of communication between users and mods, not for the community at large to view.

Back to the banning. Apparentley, as I have said, I was banned for calling a post idiotic and goading?? I think that this ban is unjustified and I request a review of it.

I think your ban was justified for the idiotic comment. I don't think it's just the phrase but the culmination of posts prior to that. The level of condescending baiting going on in that thread was enough to dish out temp-bans just to keep the thread clean. You've got to think of other users and the communities welfare sometimes, that thread was being derailed with the tit-for-tat crap that you and the muppet were up to and then finally the whole thread was locked, so nobody can post there now.

However, as I mentioned, I believe the Muppet was clearly trolling and goading you also and I would have given him a ban too if I was the soccer mod, which I am not.

Some clarification on the Reported Posts forum for you and other users: When a post is reported an email is sent to the forum moderator with the details of the reported post. However, a duplicate is also created on the reported posts forum which is a sub forum of the moderator forum, hence all moderators have access to all reported posts. All mods have access to the reported post and all mods can comment on the reported post. Since the forum is a subsection of the mod forum - nobody else can access the posts. This means that the user that sent the reported post does not see any comments on the reported post he/she created.

Thanks for the reply Gordon. I do not agree that the ban was justified, but there are obvioulsy going to be opposing views on this. I have a number of complaints in relation to the banning. Firstly, I did not call the muppet an idiot. I specifically said that his post was idiotic. It was. I linked to it in my post above. If, by default, this is considered baiting, so be it. But the fact remains that in his comments in context on that thread were idiotic.

Secondly, the moderation. I have been singled out for a ban, despite the fact that I have been on the receiving end of as much "abuse" as I have been accused of giving out. The mod in question claims that I abused everyone (on the thread in the mod forum) and yet produces no evidence of this.

Most directed at me, all of the ilk for which I have recieved a ban. The moderation, by this particular mod, is obvioulsy flawed and one sided.

Finally, I presume you have seen my response to your post on the mod forum regarding the reported post function.
