Type of wood for T&G shed

Saw a nice garden shed recently made of t&g boards - sides, floors, roof - and am thinking of making one. My local builders suppliers arn't much help identifying the wood. Would regular t&g (white deal?) with a weatherproof coat do the job, or is there something else? and where can it be bought? I'm in the wexford/carlow…
