which web page do you prefere

ok,, i know that maybe people dont like either of them and we are aware that there needs to be more work done to them, but we would like some feedback on which road we should follow as regards to design, userability and looks.

i think sample 1 is the best but get rid of that stupid javascript moving text.

Also have you tried using a different BG colour other than black ? i dont think the dark blue and black work well together. You would be suprised how much of an improvement a different BG colour would make.

Not thrilled about any of them really... I just can't pick one, it's like choosing between aids, cancer and CJD.
They seem to be variations on a theme that isn't working in the first place.

I don't like any of them either tbh. There are too many medicore dark (black/grey/punky) websites out on the net. When it's done right it looks good but when it's done bad it looks like a strangled cat

Agree with it being the same theme in all which doesn't work in first place. The colors are too strong, everything just seems to be allover the place.

Try a dark grey background rather than the Full black.

have to agree with the rest of the posters - dont really like any of them. The black background isnt good and makes the site very hard on the eyes.

If i had to choose one though - it would be sample 3

i still like the black so have stuck with that for the time being, its easier design wise. brighter colours seem to call more for flashy design, black is easier to under-design on...

but i have taken into account the rest and made some modifications,,, this is almost a 50/50 match of the two.... any better?

Some suggestions
drop the table border to 0
i don't like the two images on each side of the banner, they don't fit the layout imo
your banner is very pixelated, look at the size of it here compared to the one on your page.

Besides from that it's grand for it's purpose.

You can still keep it blackish but pure black is a bit much in my opinion.

the word 'here' in luminous green is a link as are the two green credits at the bottom whereas the word dextra on the right isn't a link - any reason?

The 'current homepage' is better than any of the samples. Why change?

Yep, the current homepage looks the best out of a bad bunch. Sort out the pixelation of the images. They images are bigger than the sizes they are set to in the web page.
e.g. http://www.dextramusic.com/button_gigs.gif - on the webpage it has a width 125px and a height of 30px but the actual image size is 200px width and height of 50px. You should create the actual images to be the size you will be using i.e. 125 width and 30px height. You could try resizing them using some sort of graphics software and then reuploading them or just recreate them at the right dimension (the latter gives the better quality end result).

its the same with most of the rest of the images on the website e.g. http://www.dextramusic.com/type4.jpg http://www.dextramusic.com/images/dextra_homepage_logo.jpg http://www.dextramusic.com/deco_1.JPG http://www.dextramusic.com/deco_2.JPG and the rest of the menu buttons.

I'd have to go with the current one too. None of them are great, but it's not bad.
