John Lyall saw one of his strikers hit the bar in training. '£10 says you can't do it again'. The ball was crossed in, and he hit a volley from the edge of the box. BANG - hit the bar.
'Double or quits'. BANG - hit the bar
'£50 for three-in-a-row'. BANG!
And that striker (I think it was David Cross) was nowhere near as good as Ronaldinho

I used to do some junior coaching and some of the other coaches were trying to hit the bar from the centre circle while I was laying out cones etc. None of them did it. When I finished, I said 'Give us a go then!' BANG - hit the bar first time. And I'm *really* crap!

It is physically impossible. Remember, he is depending on the ball to come back to him without the ball bouncing. That would mean hitting the bar in an exact spot four times. No one could do it.

Ah, I see. Well I can't see the whole vid for some reason but IIUC he hits the ball with exactly the same power, on exactly the same spot four times so that it hits the same spot on the crossbar four times in succession without the ball hitting the ground?

There is a famous story about Ernst Happel taking over as the Dutch coach before the 1978 World Cup. He wasn't regarded highly by a number of his players so he lined up some balls on the eighteen yard line and hit each one of them off the crossbar.
