Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Birmingham to sign Spurs' Kelly

Birmingham City have agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur for their defender Stephen Kelly.

Personal terms have yet to be agreed with talks between Blues chief Karren Brady and Kelly's agent set to take place over the next 48 hours.

The 22-year-old Republic of Ireland star graduated through Spurs' Academy system and had loan spells at Southend, QPR and Watford.

His Premiership debut came in 2003 and he made 43 appearances.

Disappointing to see him moving into the Championship, but at least he will probably get first team football at Birmingham.

Didn't he just sign a new contract two weeks ago, or am I imagining that?

edit: Knew I wasn't imagining it!

Havent seen much of him but what i have seen he looks like a player who could do with a few seasons under his belt. Pity its going to be in the Championship but the long term benefits could be worth the wait.

The story I heard was that Spurs had agreed a deal with him months ago and that announcing he'd got a new contract was only to boost his resale value.

Disappointing to see him step down a division but it will really bring him on imo by playing first team football. Smart move by Spus as well to milk some more money for him.
