Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You do realise that your post is a legally binding contract and thus Pighead is fully entitled to claim his money?
    If so bet accepted.

At least he won't have the distinct 'honour' of conceding a goal to Peter Crouch.

Plus, on the bright side, I'm sure he expected to concede more than one goal in the World Cup! :)

Pighead will give you 1/100 on that MrJoeSoap. It's also 1/100 that Ian Wright is at this very moment changing his underpants after an unfortunate accident in the 3rd minute. CALM DOWN IAN!

That was one of the most ridiculous decisions I've ever seen a ref make. the 7 second rule was brought in to stop time wasting. Why in the name of God would the losing team want to time waste? Imagine a goal came out of that.

England have trained with this ball? Some of the overhit shootin, passing or crossing is terrible.

Only seen highlights of germany but they looked very comfortable with the ball.

Like all the South American teams this year. Never perform in Europe. Still hope they get an equalizer

Nah don't reckon there will be a red card in this one MrJoeSoap. Paraguay look a bit toothless to me. I'll give you 10-1.
Argentina V Ivory Coast on the other hand: Evens!
England seem to be making there usual solid yet unspectacular start. They'll be happy enough with the first half. I expect them to add another 1 or 2 before the end. Hope Wrighty has brought a few pairs of undies with him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,800 ✭✭✭county

    that was bloody close

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,013 ✭✭✭✭eirebhoy

Sven has certainly done is homework with the balls being lobbed over the backline but I can't say the same about Paraguay. They seem to just bipass the midfield and lob balls from defence up the the strikers. When Acuna has the ball they get a few passes together and play well. That's all it takes against this England team is to pass as they let you play. Paraguay's game plan is terrible and must be changed at half time.

  • Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 15,001 ✭✭✭✭Pepe LeFrits

Paraguay are really poor but England need to link up the attack and midfield better - the midfield still isn't gelling properly for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,881 ✭✭✭bohsman

Had lumped on England but layed them off for a free shot at $87 If England win, might put a few quid on the draw. England arent too convincing.

I meant with the kicking of the ball, even beckham having trouble whipping the ball from right to left, couple of times the ball just stops and goes it own way. Lampard and gerrards shooting have been blazing over when they should be working the keeper.

The new ball is light as **** so the teams have been training with it, last night germany where whipping the ball from the wing to wing with ease, england look to be struggling with it.

Altho all that is neglible then the ball is on the ground, but still a lot of players having issues with the ball.

Anyone else finding England extremely predictable?

Long ball to Crouch, knock down to Gerrard or Lampard for a wild shot?

Beckham or Cole are not getting passed the full backs at all. Not a very creative performance from England but looking good for a win.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

The ball is wretched but if they last long enough they'll get used its, ahem qualities. Very distracting shadows, there was a stadium in USA 94 like that was'nt there?

Crouch doing sterling work and getting fouled for his troubles, Terry not having a brilliant afternoon so far.

    Mike.
