27th, 28th, and 29th of this month. I'm hoping to go at least the 27th and the 28th, depends on when I have to be in Dublin as I'm leaving the country on the 30th of June :)

Any idea when the Dublin one would be on?

No clue Paddy is waiting to hear about the venue... which he is keeping tight lipped about.

Hmm I will try make it down, any decent b&b's around there?

if you're booking somewhere to stay, i'd try and book it now to get somewhere cheap, as considering a lot of people that aren't from cork will be there, it might be harder to get good and cheap accomodation in midleton (it's a small enough place)... there's the midleton park hotel, but that might be a bit expensive, i dunno.. there's a couple of b&bs about both in midleton and there some just about 5-10 minutes outside, on the dual carriageway up to the city iteself... thinking about it, there's probably some up along on the road to the rugby club and around that general area... sorry, i don't know any names, i'm from midleton so i've never had to use them :D

Might take a trip down home for once and check it out maybe, but not too fond of the rugby club as a venue.

I'd love to get my other conch punched there. Doubt it'd be a good idea. Can be a sweet place to pick up new jewellery though!

All i know there will be competions on the weekend, day winners etc.
But entering pieces done already im not sure about that.
i have a good tat on my bicep but not sure going about entering that?
I thought the fresh pieces done are gone for enteries for competions on the day?
I dont think that the tattoos that are done already can go into competion entries afaik.

I thought it was the tattoo artist that entered the tattoos in the competition, not the wearer.

Yeah, I just realised i'm going to a gig the Friday night, but I'll try to make it down on the Sat if it's not a late one.

Really want to get my nape pierced soon!

It would be class to meet some of ye- we can go to the Meeting Place for a few if there aren't any teeny boppers around...

the expo i was at in february had competitions where anyone could nominate their own piece, whether done by someone at the expo or not, and there were various sections and prizes and stuff.. not sure what they were, my mate entered me, but i ran into someone i really didnt want to see that day, and ended up heading home early.

by pictures or you have to show up to show ye tattoo to the judges?
    even fresh or done recently?

Alan... think about it... for the love of jeebus!

You are there at a convention, the tattoo is on you! Why show a picture when you could just lift up your sleeve, or pull up a trouser leg and show them personally!
    It's common sense

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,196 ✭✭✭Crumble Froo

just whatever's on your body, and it was done as a line-up kinda thing. you had to be present at the expo at the time they were judging them, but that was it.

as i siad, i went home early, but yeah, they were just doing a 'best tattoo' competition in several categories, and you could enter whatever was inked on your body.

    no no
what im saying is that if ye not at the expo, i think you can submit a photos to the convention organizer.
i have said that i emailed dennis who is organising the event and still waiting and il let you know.

well, the one i was at, you very much *had* to be there, so you could prove it's your tattoo... how else could they know it's yours?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,183 ✭✭✭✭Will

Why would you wanna do that? and why would they, the point in the competition is you being there in person. somewhat like an athlete posting a video of their sprints and using that to say they're taking part, just doesnt cut it. laughable in fact

Nah wouldnt be entering myself (backpeice not finished yet but got more added, will post a pic when healed :))

was just kinda wondering how the whole proccess worked? Obviously you would need to be there personaly, and probs the artist aswell?

Just curious if anyone was 100% entering a piece this year.

    Cheers,
