Changing from Eircom to BT.

    Hey Guys,

    Im with Eircom Broadband at the moment, but I'm fed up with the expensive bills etc.

    What do you think of moving from Eircom to BT???

    Has anyone done it??

    Should I keep my Netopia modem if I change over???

    Let me know the pros and cons.

    good idea and keep the modem and tell BT not to send one as you are already kitted out, you will save on connection fee

    You get a discount if you don't require a modem (ie you keep your Netopia)

    All you'll have to do when you switch over is reconfigure. Not sure what the wait times are. I'd say you'd be waiting a month or so... but that's just a guess based on how long I was told about a year ago when I wanted to move from Eircom to anyone else..

    It took BT 2 weeks from order date to switch me.

    takes 10 days to activate the line I don't know how long it takes eircom to deactivate their service
