Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Messenger wouldnt be in the startup folder, as Capt'n Midnight said there are a lot of places related to the startup of programs in Windows.

    Start -> Run -> msconfig (Startup items are safe to mess with; obviously, leave anything anti-virus alone. For services: hide microsoft services before you go disabling.)
    Unticked = "don't start automatically when the machine does."
    Ticked = "do start..."
    This doesn't remove the software - just it's starting...

    BINGO, thank you. The amount of cr@p in there, no wonder my laptop was taking so long to boot up.

    Even more than MS config shows if you dont mind a bit of regedit back up first go to run regedit HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and look at whats there also HKEY_Local_machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

    Deleting any keys here will stop them from starting at boot up
