Hey, since there always seems to be someone here that has an answer to most queries i was just wonderin does anyone know anythin about the tattoo studio in Sligo?
A mate of mine is determined to get their tattoo done in sligo but still hasnt checked out the place yet! I myself by no means claim to know much on the subject but i saw few pieces that were done there about 2 years ago and they were smudged, the lines weren't too sharp or even and one just looked like a black blob and i dont think that was what the guy was goin for!!
I know artists can change and dont really want to generalise the place but does anyone have a clue...

    Thanks :)

well, I haven't a clue about the studio to be honest. But wouldn't the best option be to get your mate to go in and ask the artists can he see their portfolios and then make a decision on whether or not he wants to get tattooed there, judging on what he sees and from talking to the artists.

yeah that was what i suggested, no talkin to them though, i think they just dont want to have to travel for it. I dont know, i spent a while decidin where i was gona get mine done and am probably head elsewhere for my next piece coz its not their speciality!!!

well, jesus if there's no talking to them and they won't even look through a few portfolios its their own loss and stupidity to be honest.
Getting a bad tattoo(thats assuming the place is bad) out of not wanting to travel can only be blamed on themselves when it comes down to it.

If the studio they're talking about is the run by the Dutchman then tell them to go elsewhere.
I believe there's no telling what state he'll be in when you're getting work.

Mind you he always has a few morphine tablets for my friend to "ease" the pain when he's getting tattooed. Try another town.

So it is the Dutchman you were talking about, yeah like I say, mate of mine from the area has work done by him, it wasn't all that bad, but he got him on a good day, I believe there's days when he is "nodding out" on customers.

Dont do tattoos while stoned on drugs kids........

<edit> my mate kinda likes morphine but we still had a laugh over this...

<edit1> this is all hearsay by the way, but from reliable sources, but is as reliable as anything on the web by a stranger...

Hi Olly, im from Sligo and i wouldn't dream of getting any tatoo in any of the studios ere! for one they're not even advertised in the local newspaper's or anywhere else for that matter and thats a really bad sign i reckon. i got mine done with a woman two years ago and know loadsa people who have also had stuff done with her. she's really good and "very" clean. she's a hippi from manorhamilton and she comes to your house which is kewl and more relaxing. i think she may have a studio also, if your interested i could post you a private message, wouldn't like to put her details up ere outa respect:)

iv been tattooing for 11 years and i dont think i have ever seen an add for a tattoo studio in a newspaper, the best result is to check out artists portfolios and studio/artists reviews through websites, facebook, myspace and boards
