Blobbing plasterboard

Hi, Doing a bit of plasterboard slabbing in the house. I need to fix a small bit of plasterboard to a block wall, and I was wondering what is in the mixture that is used for 'blobbling'.

It is a thick mix of bonding compound & water.
A drop of PVA in the water helps too.
