Hi! Just wondering, when attempting to obtain radio feature coverage, have you found local radio easier to approach than national? Thanks.

Put some context on your question - i.e. what are you trying to get coverage for.

Thanks for your reply. Coverage: explaining the service we offer while divulging interesting facts that listeners may find newsworthy and interesting such as what types of businesses are best sellers, where from abroad are the Irish enquiring about businesses back home, reasons for people selling, top tips when selling your company etc.

Is your service different and unusual enough to pique the interest of a show editor?

Judging by the levels of press interest we believe so. We are noticing trends from the Irish returning home, baby boomers retiring, change from pubs to cafes, most popular businesses, tips to help people sell businesses etc.

Local radio will run with anything to be honest, I have found anyhow, the nationwide ones you would want to have a unique angle

If you can add a local angle to your story, then local will love you. Community noticeboards are a big thing on local radio.. and they can be great for promoting items. www.medialive.ie will give you a good list of local radio.

Thank you all for your comments. I'll work on the local angle- there are a few things such as combined valuation of businesses for sale in a locality, case studies of businesses sold in a locality, diversity of business types; general local success stories. So thanks again, food for thought.

:) Case studies are particularly effective as they add credibility... Good Luck!

Thanks for the tip, it's encouraging. We were thinking about case studies on international (Irish and non Irish citizens abroad) interest in operating local businesses to create a different angle for local based radio to go with.
