why oh why???

Apologies if this has been posted before!

Ok, i realise that on a hot, sunny day, people need to keep as cool as possible, but tell me this please, why oh why do some men insist on wearing socks with sandals??

Now bear in mind that im not much of a feet fan either (dont even particularly love my own) but its just wrong and theres no need!!

surely the purpose of sandals are to let your feet breathe and cool down, so why friggin well cover them up again?? if thats what ya want to do, buy SHOES!!

has anyone else got a problem with this or am i being totally irrational and stop banging on about it??

Heh, my dad does that. We've tried and tried to get him to stop doing it but he just won't budge on the matter. Try and see the funny side!

Whilst it does look naff I can understand why some people do it. Especially people who have sweaty feet. Some sandals would make your feet really sweaty so if you wear socks they won't sweat but you'll have some air for your feet to breath without them being totally covered by shoes. It does tend to be the middle-old aged men that are the culprits. Don't bother me at all though what does spring to mind is American tourists with shorts pulled up over there bellies to complete the look !

LOL yes and to really complete the ensemble just ad a bum bag. I see lots of them everyday as I work nearby a hotel and see bus loads of those tourists. I'd say its just a comfort thing and tbh when I get older I'm gonna do mad things like that and embarass my grandkids and wear my slippers when I'm collecting them from school!

Yeah thoses American tourists with there ''Fanny packs'' and in matching tracksuits.. they crack me up.
