Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As in at the local machine? The email was read and then unread?

Can't be done as best I can see. There is a "Modified" field in Outlook, but this only applies to actual changes to the mail or any of its attachments.

There may be some obscure log somewhere in Outlook (or on the server if you're using Exchange) which holds such information, but I can't imagine a programmer thinking that logging such a change would ever be necessary.

    Yeah saw the modified one..

Ok maybe i will put it another way, is there a way to check if someone tampered with your mail while you were away

Perhaps. It depends on your setup.

There are plenty of ways of finding out if someone logged into your machine, or deleted some of your mail, or a few other things.

It all depends on your setup - what OS, what type of network, Domain/non-Domain, Exchange or plain old POP, etc etc.

main question here as seamus pointed out is if the email is on a local PST file or if it's on something like an exchange server.

local stuff you could just change the time on the PC to cover your tracks,

check sent items and deleted in case a read reciept was sent
copy the pst, break 20KB off the end and repair it to recover deleted emails

But unless you have a server you aren't going to prove anything, read reciepts can be turned off in so many places (false negative) and outlook can be set to open the next email and mark as read after 3 seconds if you delete the one before it (false positive)

have a look in the Journal most of us have it turned off 'cos it slows stuff down.
