Should be a few good games today.

Expect England Vs T&T to be the most cliche ridden 90 minutes of football in a long time. Afterall, today is "their word cup final", and they "will party no matter what the result", not to mention they have "idolised (insert england oplayers anme and team) since they were but wee bairns".

England shouldnt have too much problems hitting 3 or 4 today. T&T were dogged against Sweden, and their coach has them excellently organised. However, i think their draw vs Sweden was their high point.

Sweden Vs Paraguay should be a good game. Both like to attack, and both need the win. I fancy paraguay to snaek this by the odd goal in three.

Costa Rica Vs Ecuador. Again, know very little of these teams apart from what i saw last friday. Hope Costa Rica win in order to set the last round of games in this group up for a few crackers.

Sweden to beat Paraguay by the odd goal. Larsson to get the decisive goal.

Costa Rica v Ecuador - 1-1 draw.

Can I suggest that a Mod changes the title of this thread from merely Day 7 to:

Day7 EC-CRC EN-TT SE-PY

or something along those lines,

eg:
D7 Ecu-Cost Eng-Trin Swe-Para

And that this format is adopted for subsequent 'day' threads. In that way a reader can easily see which matches are where. Day 4, Day 5, etc is a bit meaningless as the days mount up.


In terms of the matches, I think England will win, although I would like to see a David slay a Goliath, Ecuador a win also, and Sweden and Paraguay may be a draw.

I don't like the whole day concept.

It means for example, I will miss the Ecu Costa Rica match this morning, but will be home for the other two, so if I want to not know the score of the first match, I can't post on this thread at all during the other two matches.
Seperate match threads means I can do this.

Half time, are the England supporters booing the referee for blowing his whistle while England were in an attacking position or are they actually booing the team? #2 wouldn't surprise me, T&T had a better chance than England have had in any of it (I've only been watching since the 20th minute).

England have been really poor,they keep trying to do over the top shots and messing it up rather than getting the simple stuff right.Brilliant clearance from John Terry,england would have been a goal down.

No one really standing out for England except maybe Joe Cole,but he hasnt been amazing really.
I think we may see Rooney on if it stays 0-0.

Ashley cole isnt any better. Rushing players back or playing them when they've barely played all season is a bad idea imo. I expect Rooney to be th eexception that proves the rule.

Why the hell doesnt sven mix it up even a bit by swapping lampard further back and giving gerrard the role that he plays so well for liverpool. The worst that will happen is that instead of Lampard missing the target with shots it'll be Gerrard.
