Copying from VCR to DVD HDD

I recently got a DVD Hard-drive and want to copy some matches etc. I have on video tape onto the hard-drive and then put them onto DVD. Unfortunately I've been unable to do it so far and was wondering is it possible to do and if so, how do I do it?

yeah it is possible. i have it set up so that the vhs links through the dvd hd to the tv and its set up in such a way that i put the dvd on av to pick up the signal and when it somes through just hit record...

hope thats makes sense
