Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

an attachment. Please review it(you will have to zoom to exactly 100% to read it)and let me know what you think.(There is more information in writing in the attachment)
    Please look and advise,

    Thanks for any help,

There's othing obviousy wrong with the setup (though I've never used ICS, so I couldn't say whether there will be any issues on that front). basically, you'll just be using the Linksys as a wireless access point, for now (plugging the ICS PC into a LAN port, not the WAN port), which should work fine.

Ya thats what I was thinking too. Just Use it as a comined switch/ap for now and ignore the wan port but will this device function okay without a broadband conncection being plugged into the wan port?

Looks ok to me too. Can't see any probs with it. In case DHCP doesn't work via ICS PC, just use static ip addresses.

    Nice research. ;)

Ya its possible allright, Ill be using the wireless router as an access point. It would be the same if I had a seperate wired router and wifi access point hooked together. Ill be ignoring the actual router functionality of it for the moment

Only if you consider sharing a dialup connection over a wireless network weird.

Oh yeah, I see your point :D

I used a linksys WRT54GS for sharing files around a home wired & wireless network. I never got internet connection sharing to work with dial up though. Can't remember exactly what the issue was but enabling internet connection sharing conflicted with the linksys ... something to do with default gateways etc. Anyway I eventually got broadband and threw the dial up out . Have a look here for my setup now.

just disable the dhcp server on the ICS machine or on the linksys(not both)

job done but you may need dhcp passthrough (doubt it though)
