    Hi there,
Have been asked to enquire does anyone know what the licenscing procedures if any are for running a kennels and/or cattery here in ireland are.
Have been in contack with Councils and everyone else and the answer was basically... we dont know.
So maybe soeone here is in one and can find out or may know someone who could help.
The person who would be running it is a qualified animal carer.

As far as I know you just need a general kennel licence, not sure how the insurance works though, best thing to do is have the person contact some other kennels ideally ones they woudln't be in competition with for more information. It's a huge commitment, stuck at home on all holidays and at all hours and it takes a long time to make any money out of it.

    Ah yeah we know that.
Yeah see thats the problem we were wary of contacting kennels because theyd obviously considerer the fact of competition.
Where is the gerernal kenneling licence obtained from?

Why not try contacting the Irish Kennels & Cattery Association or even join the association if you are serious about getting into the kennel business. See www.ibkca.com
