Great fan of Jim Rock, but think Duddy is in a different league to Jim and will simply out class him..Another KO on the cards for Duddy?

Duddy will hit far to hard with both his jab and his hooks+straights for Rock and Rock will fold in 3 or 4 rounds .

He'll give it his best but Rock isn't up to that level . It will be a nice way for Rock to retire though , in Las Vegas on the Rahman v Maskaev card getting decent money...........the downside is it will be a bad loss and he will get busted up quite a bit .

Accoring to boxrec the fight is going to be on the 10th of August in Las Vegas .
The card will be headlined by Hawaiian Brian Viloria(19-0-0 , 12 ko's) in a defence of his WBC Light-Flyweight title against Omar Nino Romero(23-2-1 , 10 ko's) .

The rest of the card is:
    Diosdado Gabi(26-3-1 , 18ko's) V Jose German Cruz(2-2-0 , 1 ko , very uncomplete record (8 rds)
    Aaron Williams(8-0-1 , 6ko's) V TBA (6 rds)
    John Molina(2-0-0 , 2 ko's) V TBA (6 rds)
    Vincent Arroyo(5-0-0 , 3 ko's) V TBA (4/6 rds)

Gabi challenged Vic Darchinyan for the IBF and IBO Flyweight belts in his last fight but was stopped in 8th rounds , going down for the first time in his career and being counted out .

Duddy v Rock is over 10 rounds for the Irish Middleweight title .

The fights been postponed. Talk of it going ahead in November in Dublin with Duddy still fighting on the august 10th card against an as yet unamed opponent. Talk of duddy fighting former world champ yory boy campas in september as well. Ive never seen campos fight but hes been in the ring with some of the best including vargas, de la hoya and trinidad.

Personally I think this is good news. It will Probably be in the point and it will be a great night plus we'll still get to see duddy next month anyway. I imagine rock is a bit disapointed though and it probably would have been better for duddy in america(the more expsoure he gets over there the better I suppose) but I think its great news for irish fans.

I am a big fan of both Rock & Duddy but if they fought Duddy would wipe the floor with 'The Pink Panther', so in that respect I would not like to see it happening, because it would be a total mismatch.

Rocks career is winding down and his defeat to the unbelievably average Takaloo a couple of years ago is a good indication of the level he is at. But I would love to see Rock fight somebody like Eamonn Magee in Dublin before he hangs up his gloves.

As for Duddy he is one of the hottest prospects in the US right now and he is a huge draw so there are definatly some big fights on the horizon for him. He actually had to pull out of a fight with Carlos Borjorquez because of heat exhaustion but his scheduled fight with veteran Mexican warrior Ramon 'Yori Boy' Campas should still go ahead in September.

Not too many years ago a gent from the States by the name of Randy Morgan came to fight Steve Collins in the Stadium, though fight is a nondescriptive word. Duddy has build a fine record up and been well managed, whereas Jim has mixed with some of the toughest in the British rings and was leading when knocked out by Takaloo. He has a far better chin and repertoire than any of the fighters Duddy has faced and great self confidence. The pressure is on Duddy and I wonder if he can match up to his self hype. I'd like ot see Jim fight Big Bad Jon first, putting him away early would be a real filip before tackling Duddy.
