    Hi all,

I have been obliged to take over from Earthman as the Moderator for this board as he is sadly sadly stepping down.No changes here on this forum as yet,but clensing of threads will happen in the weeks to come.
Please continue to keep the peace and be civilized as before as we all want to continue to have the banter about our exciting weather (when it happens) on our little island.

So get posting When it happens,If it happens and Where it happens.

on here willing to give it a shot (not including myself).

I wish you the best of luck.

Sad to see Earthman go im sure he'll be around during the days of
Easterly blasts and when those 10 foot drifts pack of against my house:D

Mid winters less than 6 months away:D

This looks like an effort to give Snowbie his first ban but....

    Is this a fecking joke??

    No its not a joke.

    Welcome to your new overlord.

For several and many reasons my time online will be limited from now on so the committee has appointed snowbie to take up the slack and I have resigned.
I'll still be here from time to time, just less so.
Snowbie is a good choice and we're confident that he will do a good job.

OMG 6 months to the winter and some are already talking about it:eek: . Patience ppl still 2 months before the first indicators are out.......
    Good luck Snowbie. :)

Ive a feeling Earthman will be here next week reporting some thunderstorms for us;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,235 ✭✭✭lucernarian

In that case, a warm welcome to the new moderator and my thanks to Earthman who has done a fine job moderating here since before I was on boards.

This ctte. sounds all-powerful Earthman, you've got me curious:D

When will Snowbie be conferred with his new powahs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,033 ✭✭✭Snowbie

Thanks Earthman for the intro there:)
Lads whats the story with some of ye,i detect a problem or two.
My knowledge of Meterology is top notch with all the latest equipment to hand.
Is it that i have not as much posts as some of ye that im cheeseing people off:(
But lads the people who support thanks very much and to those who dont.........BEWARE.:D

He's already mod-look at the mod list at the bottom of the forum.

A script has to be run to add the moderator title under his nick, that usually takes a few weeks.

(so be nice,he already has the powah to ban sticky delete etc :D)

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,235 ✭✭✭lucernarian

Indeed, it's good to see an Irish-based lightning detector with us at last. It's also good to see another person who will frequent the forums. It will make the snow threat threads run that little bit busier:D

For my part I'm glad to see a new moderator who has the equipment necessary to make an extra contribution to the forum. Where are you based, Snowbie?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,033 ✭✭✭Snowbie

About a mile from the coast in Dublin 13.

Not to far from me then. I was only joking earlier in the thread. Congrats:D

I was only surprises because i rarely see "Snowbie" around the weather
forums and was rather surprised to a member who i rarely see around
here become a moderator when i know of many other member who in
my opinion would be more deserving of the job (due to their
experience using the forum and interaction with other members)

    regards

Havent popped in here in a while as summer weather doesn't interest me that much :)

Equally surprised to hear Earthman is no longer a mod here and Snowbie is. Sorry to see you go Earthman and congrats Snowbie :)

And yes, this winter will deliver :D

Im not going to get the digs in with you:(
    Whats done is done.
I would not question Earthmans judgement either, far as im concerned he is the most experienced on this forum as he started it up,also he asked me to take over as mod,
    Why do you think?;)

Oh God I hope the weather gets interesting real quick :)

    aww, you want it.
    dont you?
    *pats*

anyways, do you folk actually measure weather conditions and stuff, or make predictions yourselves?
    cool.
