I thought after those 2 cops were killed a couple of years ago driving an ancient Corolla that 5 year old cars were the max they were allowed to drive?

I think that may be for marked cars. There are quite a few very ordinary old unmarked cars in the Dublin area.

New(ish) Opel Astra hatch-back on the Navan road (unmarked, black I think!). Hard to know these days. Sooo many Focuses and Mondeos on the roads.

That Forester is maroon, and doesn't live on motorways alone. It's regularly seen in Naas on late night speed duty, and I saw it pulling iin Monasterevin on Saturday. Trouble is even though you know it exists, you don't spot it as quick as it's not the typical cop wagon.

Gardaí in Naas have a red Bora too AFAIK

No it was actually an unmarked Corolla they were killed in, I wonder was the 93 D green Ford Escort a private Gardas car and if it was is his insurance company aware he is using it for with his work.

Ive seen the Maroon Subaru Forester in Newbridge too!,
It looks fairly normal at a glance, I was going into Tesco one night and it drove past, then out of nowhere a load of blue lights appeared from everywhere:eek: , It looked as if there was one hidden in the brake light tray on the back window aswell.
So from that night forward instead of keepin the boot down when u see the headlights of a jeep behind I tend to ease off...Just incase!!
